| search bar | the bar at the top of the browser that you type keywords into to search | ||||
| spyware | software that secretly runs while your computer is running / It sends information about you/ your search habits, passwords etc. | ||||
| homepage | main web page for an individual or organization | ||||
| website | a collection of related web pages | ||||
| address bar | the space at the top of the browser where you type the web address. | ||||
| hyperlink | links for short are a wprd or several words in a document whose function is to take you directly to a website...usually a different color than the body text | ||||
| browser | a program (software) that accesses and displays files and other data and allows you to see and use the internet | ||||
| address | the code that identifies where a piece of information is stored. ex www.chastainjwms.blogspot.com | ||||
| bookmark | a command to make a bowser save an internet address , so that the site can be visited easily latere...a shortcut! | ||||
| search engine | a tool designed to search for information on the www | ||||
| Internet | A computer network consisting of a world wide network of computer networks. They use TCP/IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission. |
